Marc Guehi set to walk away from Crystal Palace while another teammate has his head turned
Crystal Palace are bracing themselves for a double whammy of departures in the upcoming transfer windows with Marc Guehi and another core player potentially soon to leave.
Unable to force through a move on transfer deadline day, sources told Football Insider that Crystal Palace could accept an offer for Guehi in January.
Liverpool are accelerating their efforts to sign Guehi, especially with limited options in Arne Slot‘s backline due to injury.
Yet, whilst Oliver Glasner will have to accept that the Englishman will inevitably leave in one of the two upcoming transfer windows, focus will now be turned to keeping Jean-Philippe Mateta at Selhurst Park.

Jean-Philippe Mateta contract talks hold key to Crystal Palace’s transfer stance
Although former Everton and Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider that he expects Jean-Philippe Mateta to sign a new deal with Crystal Palace, the club are making contingency plans for if talks don’t come to fruition.
According to The Sun (3 December), the Eagles are ready to listen to offers for the Frenchman in the summer if a new contract can’t be secured.
The number 14’s current deal runs until June 2027, yet there has been no update on a resolution to the problem as Glasner sweats over the future of his prized striker.

Mateta has seven goals in 14 league appearances for the south London outfit so far this season, making up 38.9 per cent of their Premier League goals in the 2025-26 campaign.
Tottenham among clubs wanting to capitalise on Mateta’s contract stalemate
The news will delight many of the France international’s possible suitors who will now undoubtedly up their pursuit for the frontman next summer.
Sources told Football Insider back in October that Tottenham were targeting a January push for Mateta, yet now may alter their approach in light of the new developments.

Thomas Frank has thus far been let down by the performances of his current set of strikers and is in dire need of a clinical and efficient goalscorer.
Similarly, Man United may be intrigued by the prospect of signing the 28-year-old if Benjamin Sesko fails to reach his full potential this season.
The Slovenian has just two goals to his name since leaving RB Leipzig last summer and has struggled to settle down at Old Trafford.
