Marcelo Bielsa’s odds to return as Leeds manager revealed as Daniel Farke faces sack
Marcelo Bielsa could be in the running for a sensational return to Leeds United in the coming weeks.
The Argentine has been away from English football since he was sacked at Elland Road back in February 2022, but he may now be eyeing a stunning return to the Premier League in LS11.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Wednesday that Daniel Farke is facing the sack at Leeds United if he doesn’t oversee an improvement in results across the next five games.
The Whites have slipped into the relegation zone after their 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa last weekend, and that has only seen the pressure mount further on their boss in the last few days.
A change of manager could potentially be on the cards for the West Yorkshire outfit between now and the new year, and Bielsa’s name is already being floated as a potential replacement.

Marcelo Bielsa is in the running to take over at Leeds
Farke’s recent struggles at Leeds have seen him become the odds-on favourite to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job, and that eventuality may no longer be far away.
The newly-promoted side have daunting clashes against Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool to come in their next three outings, and the German’s position could easily have become viewed as untenable by the end of that run.
As a result, it is no surprise that potential replacements at Elland Road are already being spoken about, and Bielsa’s name is doing the rounds.

The 70-year-old led the Whites to their highest Premier League finish since 2001-02 in the 2020-21 campaign, and he is already in the running to take over from Farke at odds of 33/1.
Marcelo Bielsa has unfinished business at Elland Road
Bielsa is still held in high regard by Leeds fans after he guided them to promotion to the top flight back in 2019-20.
The current Uruguay international was dismissed by the Leeds hierarchy despite the team sitting outside the relegation zone in the Premier League at the time, which left a bitter taste in the mouths of many supporters.
To make matters worse, his replacement Jesse Marsch ultimately played a significant role in their relegation back into the Championship the following season.
As a result, there is certainly a sense that Bielsa has unfinished business in LS11, after the way that his reign was unceremoniously brought to a halt at a key stage of the season.
His return seems relatively far-fetched at the moment, but there is surely nothing that Leeds fans would love to see more than the return of their former hero.
