Marco Silva ‘braced for fresh transfer frustration’ as Fulham offer beckons
Marco Silva is bracing himself for further transfer frustration as Fulham prepare to receive a bid for Andreas Pereira.
The Cottagers have endured a torrid summer transfer window so far, with back-up goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte their only arrival to this point.
Silva has openly blasted Fulham’s ‘passive’ transfer strategy, while there are even fears that Nottingham Forest could exploit the situation and have him replace Nuno Espirito Santo.
Now, things could be about to get even worse for the West Londoners, with key midfielder Pereira attracting interest.

Fulham braced for Andreas Pereira bid
According to Sky Sports (25 August), Palmeiras are lining up a bid for Pereira.
Pereira joined Fulham from Manchester United in 2022 and since then, he’s made 119 appearances across all competitions — notching 10 goals and 22 assists.
But the 10-time Brazil international’s contract is up next summer, and although Fulham hold an option year, it’s understood he’s keen to return to his homeland.
Palmeiras’ bid will test the resolve of Fulham to keep Pereira, as well as the player’s true desire to return to Brazil.
Amid uncertainty over his future, Pereira is yet to play for Fulham in the new Premier League season and was left out of the squad entirely for Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

Fulham need to back Marco Silva
Football Insider verdict
Amid all the transfer frustration, Fulham have actually made a decent start to the season, scoring late against Brighton to salvage a 1-1 draw on the road, before also coming from behind to force the same scoreline at home to Man United.
However, if they’re to build on their club-record points total from last season, new additions are required.
What’s more, supporters will be getting worried by the amount of outward frustration Silva has been showing about his lack of backing — especially with Nottingham Forest eyeing him as a potential Nuno replacement.

Raheem Sterling and Rasmus Hojlund are among those linked to Fulham right now.
Silva is likely at the point where he doesn’t overly care who comes through the door as long as his squad is bolstered.
Losing someone of Pereira’s quality would only serve to disillusion the Portuguese coach even further.
Amid the noise, Fulham host Bristol City in the EFL Cup second round on Wednesday, before travelling to local rivals Chelsea on Saturday.
