Marco Silva looks set to axe Fulham trio vs Crystal Palace after Man City goalfest

Fulham were unlucky not to get something out of their 5-4 defeat to Man City on 2 December as they turn their attention to a clash with Crystal Palace.

Erling Haaland notched his 100th Premier League goal for Man City against Fulham, but his efforts nearly weren’t enough.

Samuel Chukwueze inspired a determined fightback from Fulham as they came from 5-1 down to end the match at 5-4.

However, ahead of a London derby against the Eagles, Marco Silva will be looking to make some changes to his team to take advantage of the grit shown by his players against the Cityzens.

Harry Wilson

Whilst Harry Wilson is still waiting to sign a new deal with Fulham, the winger has stayed professional with his performances on the pitch.

Since returning from international duty, the number eight has a goal and an assist in three matches for the Cottagers and is one of Silva’s go-to men.

However, given the intense workload which comes with the congested fixtures in December, it may be wise for the Welshman to receive a rest.

Moreover, with both Chukwueze and Kevin in great form, the ex-Everton boss has incredible options to bring in to inject some energy into his squad.

Kenny Tete

The Dutchman has managed to hold down the starting right-back berth for several weeks now, yet his run of starts is looking like it will come to an end.

Against the Cityzens, Kenny Tete was relatively comfortable in the first half, winning five of his six ground duels and completing 86 per cent of his passes.

However, the number two was hooked off at half-time, suggesting the recent flurry of fixtures may be taking its toll.

His benching will see Timothy Castagne enter the fray, who is eagerly waiting in the wings to come back into the starting XI for Fulham.

Sasa Lukic

Similar to Tete, Sasa Lukic was also taken off after 45 minutes against Man City.

The Serbian was notably careless with the ball, giving possession away on 11 occasions as well as only completing 73 per cent of his passes.

Crucially, the 29-year-old was lazy with a pass from a free-kick that was intercepted by Jeremy Doku, an error which would’ve almost certainly enraged Silva.

With both Tom Cairney and Harrison Reed more than capable of coming into the Cottagers’ starting XI, the Portuguese may roll the dice and change up his midfield.
