Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish react to Bukayo Saka’s heartfelt Arsenal message
Bukayo Saka had an emotional message for Arsenal fans after making his long-awaited return from injury against Fulham.
Arsenal secured a vital three points in a 2-1 win on 1 April, with goals from Mikel Merino and the returning Saka ensuring victory, despite a late scare from Rodrigo Muniz.
Saka had been sidelined since December with a hamstring injury, leaving Arsenal short of attacking options on the flanks.
Fulham’s Tom Cairney was left stunned by Saka’s return and with the Arsenal supporters’ reaction when their star winger came on after 66 minutes.
He wasted no time repaying their support, coming off the bench and scoring just six minutes later after a brilliant flick from Gabriel Martinelli into his path for an open net.
The winger has remained active online as Saka shared a message with Arsenal fans after the win. But it was his heartfelt follow-up message, reflecting on the incredible reception he received, that truly showed what the moment meant to him.
Arsenal questioned over Saka’s return as concerns over injury management grow
Saka took to Instagram after the match to express his gratitude, writing:
“I have to acknowledge and thank you all for the energy and love you showed me last night. I’ve never seen or felt anything like what I felt at the Emirates. I will never forget that. Truly grateful!”
His post drew reactions from across the footballing world, with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish liking the message, while Arsenal teammates Declan Rice and William Saliba also showed their support.
Despite the emotional return, Arsenal’s handling of Saka’s recovery has drawn criticism. Former Tottenham manager Tim Sherwood was frustrated by the sight of Saka going through rigorous warm-ups before being introduced, questioning whether the club was rushing him back into action.
However, any concerns over his fitness were quickly dismissed as he marked his return in style, adding to his already impressive tally this season.
The winger now has 10 goals and 14 assists across all competitions, and his comeback is a major boost for Mikel Arteta’s side ahead of their Champions League clash with Real Madrid next week.

Arsenal push for Nico Williams signing in summer rebuild
Saka’s absence exposed the Gunners’ lack of depth on the wings, and the club is now looking to strengthen its attacking options in the summer window.
