Marcus Rashford and Wesley Fofana react to Trevoh Chalobah’s emotional announcement

Trevoh Chalobah had an announcement on social media that drew players across the Premier League to react.

The England international spent the first half of the season on loan at Crystal Palace, where he played a key role in Oliver Glasner’s back line.

However, Chalobah was recalled by Chelsea at the start of the year, returning to West London in the midst of an injury-hit campaign.

Despite the setbacks and the rotational demands of Enzo Maresca’s system, Chalobah has remained a dependable option when called upon.

His contributions during Palace’s early season push didn’t go unnoticed, with former teammate Marc Guehi dedicating a heartfelt message to Chalobah after Palace lifted the FA Cup.

Now, as the domestic campaign draws to a close, it looks as though the defender is set to be rewarded once again for his efforts—both at Selhurst Park and Stamford Bridge.

Trevoh Chalobah called up to England squad for the first time

England are preparing for a World Cup qualifier against Andorra and a friendly clash with Senegal at the start of June.

Thomas Tuchel named his second senior squad since taking charge, and one of the surprise inclusions was Chalobah, who received his first senior international call-up.

Chalobah reposted the official announcement on Instagram, which included a video montage highlighting his journey through the England youth ranks to his senior debut.

The news sparked a wave of support across social media, with Marcus Rashford, Mason Mount and Declan Rice all liking the post. His Chelsea teammate Wesley Fofana also commented, writing: “Proud bro.”

The versatile defender has made 32 appearances in all competitions this season—14 of those during his loan spell at Crystal Palace—and it now appears Tuchel has rewarded his consistency and adaptability.

Crystal Palace keen on Trevoh Chalobah amid Chelsea exit speculation

Chalobah played a key role in Palace’s defence under Glasner before returning to the Blues in January. With his future at Chelsea uncertain, a return to Selhurst Park could be on the table.

Reports suggest Crystal Palace are exploring a permanent deal for Chalobah, who may find regular minutes hard to come by at Chelsea next season.

The Blues already have strong competition in central defence, including Fofana, Benoit Badiashile and Levi Colwill, which could leave the Englishman further down the pecking order.

Back in February, Football Insider reported that Chelsea are open to selling Chalobah this summer as part of their wider effort to raise funds for new signings. Palace, who remain keen, could offer him the consistent game time and role he’s seeking.
