Marcus Rashford baffles at Aston Villa: ‘Very difficult to understand’
Marcus Rashford’s form since leaving Man United for Aston Villa on loan has caused confusion for Bacary Sagna.
Unai Emery’s side are already putting plans in place to bring Rashford to Villa on a permanent deal, Mick Brown told Football Insider, showing how much he has already impressed.
The Man United loanee has made just five appearances across all competitions since arriving at Villa Park last month, but he already looks to be back to his former self.
He starred in the dramatic 2-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday (22 February), setting both goals up for fellow loanee Marco Asensio, who put Enzo Maresca‘s side to the sword.
Having been frozen out of the Red Devils’ squad under both Erik ten Hag and Ruben Amorim, however, there are still questions to be answered over why he was so badly impacted at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford looks like a completely new player at Aston Villa
Speaking to PaddyPower, via the Daily Star [26 February], Sagna said: “It’s very difficult to understand why Marcus Rashford has returned to form at Aston Villa.
“He’s not the first player to leave and return to form. Antony left Manchester United and suddenly he’s shining with Real Betis, so something is surely wrong at Manchester United.”
Dressing room sources have already suggested that Amorim has lost the faith of many of the Man United players, which would explain why Rashford was struggling so much.
While it looks like a big miss for the Red Devils now, Emery will absolutely love having a player of his calibre in the squad until the end of the season.

Unai Emery needs to make Aston Villa loan deal permanent this summer
Football Insider verdict
Rashford has already proven himself to be an invaluable asset at Villa Park, though there is no doubt the England international would have to take a pay cut to join permanently.

His eye-watering wage made it nearly impossible for the player to find an exit before the winter transfer window closed, eventually being saved by Emery at Villa.
The decision looks to have paid off immediately, and especially if Ollie Watkins is to join Arsenal in the summer, the Villa hierarchy needs to be planning their next moves already.
Morgan Rogers, Jacob Ramsey and Donyell Malen can all learn from the experienced professional, and he would likely stick around at Villa Park for the next few years if his form only continues to rise.
