‘Marcus Rashford ditches sponsors work for Aston Villa crash course’

Marcus Rashford is taking significant action during his loan at Aston Villa with ramifications for his sponsors, as per a report from The i.

The attacker joined Unai Emery’s side on loan until the end of the season late in the January transfer window, having fallen out with Man United manager Ruben Amorim.

Prior to that move to the Midlands, the England international had not played for almost two months after being exiled from the squad by Amorim.

As a result, Rashford has seemingly now made some big decisions in an attempt to play as big a role as possible during his time with Aston Villa, leaving no stone unturned in his quest for fitness by making up for lost time.

Since making this move, Rashford has impressed with a number of his performances for Aston Villa, regularly posing a threat from the left-hand side.

However, of his five appearances for Unai Emery‘s side so far, only one has been as part of the starting lineup.

That is perhaps not surprising given how long he was out of action for with Man United prior to completing his move to Villa Park.

Indeed, there have been claims that Rashford will need to improve his fitness at Aston Villa to get back to his best.

It appears as though the 27-year-old is putting plenty of effort into doing just that. This report from The I states that Rashford is undergoing a “crash course” as he looks to get the most out of his loan spell.

As a result, he has apparently reduce the amount of work he is doing with his sponsors, in order to put his full focus into football.

Football Insider Verdict

Many felt that Unai Emery and co. were taking a gamble when they brought Rashford to the club given the questions that had been raised over him this season.

So far though, he has repaid Aston Villa with some impressive performances on the pitch, and it seems he is backing that up off it as well.

The fact he is ditching sponsorship work in order to focus on football shows the commitment he has to succeeding during his time with the Midlands.

That will endear him to those at the club since it shows he is taking his time there seriously, and that he wants to make as big a contribution as possible for them.

There is an option for them to buy him in the summer, and showing this positive attitude no doubt increases the chances of Aston Villa doing just that.
