Marcus Rashford: Man United star ‘will be gone’ this summer after critical update – pundit

Frank McAvennie claims Marcus Rashford “could have everything” at Man United if he focuses on his football.

The former Hoops hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider,
reacted to a “strange” development on Rashford’s future.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday (7 March) Rashford, 24, is considering his future and is concerned with his lack of playing time.

Ahead of Saturday’s (12 March) game against Tottenham, the attacker had only started nine Premier League games this season after starting the campaign with an injury that sidelined him until mid-October.

McAvennie claims the attacker has lost his way but warned the Red Devils may look to force his exit if his form doesn’t improve.

“He is the poster boy for the football club,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“I don’t mean any disrespect to him but he needs to focus on being a footballer.

“He did a lot of great things for charities and kids but you need to do your job.

“He seems to have lost his way a wee bit. I think he wants to play as a striker but I’m not sure that’s his best position.

“It would be strange to see him playing elsewhere but if you aren’t performing at a club like Man United you will be gone.

“I promise you that. Things can change in football, he might score a hattrick in the next few games and everything is fine again.

“But he hasn’t looked quite good enough this season and that is a shame.

“He has the world at his feet that boy, if he just concentrated he could have everything.”
