Marcus Rashford reacts to Lisandro Martinez ‘sadness’ at Man United
Aston Villa winger Marcus Rashford has reacted to a social media post from Man United defender Lisandro Martinez.
Rashford joined Aston Villa from Man United on loan in January, having made over 400 appearances for his boyhood club.
Rashford left Man United after falling out with Ruben Amorim, after the Portuguese manager claimed he would rather play his goalkeeping coach over “a player who doesn’t give the maximum every day”.

The England international was then frozen out, forcing him to search for a new club to join in January.
Despite his problems with Amorim, Rashford has hit the ground running for Aston Villa, impressing in the 1-1 draw against Ipswich on Saturday (15 February).
Marcus Rashford reacts to Lisandro Martinez injury update
Martinez posted a message on his Instagram after undergoing surgery for an injury picked up against Crystal Palace, saying: “Today, after going through several stormy days where I allowed myself to feel and accept my sadness, helplessness, insecurities, fears, and a deep emotional imbalance, I am reconnecting with my essence and my values, which help me see things from a kinder and more positive perspective.
I feel immense gratitude for the incredible work and support of Manchester United , AFA Seleccion , my family, friends, teammates, and everyone who took the time to send me a message of encouragement.

The surgery went perfectly!! Now it’s time to give it my all, with heart and soul, in the rehabilitation process.
Martinez now faces up to 12 months out injured which is a “massive blow” Mick Brown told Football Insider.
The Argentine defender has been a key figure at United, since joining from Ajax in 2022 for £56.7million.
United have been forced to use Noussair Mazraoui as a make-shift centre-back in Martinez’s absence, and the Moroccan looked out of place against Tottenham.
The Red Devils currently sit 15th in the Premier League, following the loss to Spurs, and will face a resurgent Everton in their next game on 22 February.

Marcus Rashford thrives at Aston Villa while Man United falter
Football Insider Verdict
Rashford against Ipswich looked like the player that football fans fell in love with, during his time at United.
The winger came off the bench at half-time, and struck the bar with a free-kick, which Ollie Watkins then poked home to give the Midlands club a point.
Rashford was back to his former glory, picking up the ball near the halfway line and driving towards goal, and on another day, likely would have had a goal to cap off a wonderful display.
United on the other hand, looked desperate for answers, as they faded from the game, and failed to trouble a makeshift Spurs backline.
