Marcus Rashford responds to Chelsea star Cole Palmer’s ‘scary’ message

Man United’s exit-bound forward Marcus Rashford reacted to Chelsea star Cole Palmer’s latest update on social media away from Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old is currently away with Enzo Maresca‘s Blues at the Club World Cup, notching his first goal contribution of the tournament during a controversial 4-1 win over Benfica on Saturday, 28 June.

Despite Reece James’ opener, Angel Di Maria hit back from the penalty spot following a lengthy delay due to adverse weather conditions, with Chelsea’s Malo Gusto punished for a questionable handball.

With the game going to extra time, Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall all hit the back of the net to help the Europa Conference League winners reach the quarter-finals.

Fans have not seen the same Palmer at the tournament over in America, but with an assist against Benfica, we could be about to see the playmaker hit a purple patch as the Blues aim for another title.

Enzo Maresca to push Chelsea further in the Premier League

Football Insider verdict

With Liam Delap already signed, soon to be joined by Jamie Gittens and Joao Pedro in the Chelsea squad at the Club World Cup, the Blues are creating an incredible team ahead of next season.

Maresca led his side back to the Champions League while also lifting the Europa Conference League title, and due to his performances, expectations have only risen at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have used the Premier League’s PSR loopholes to make some brilliant big-money signings, not least Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, and Palmer, who have all risen to fame in West London.

With the Blues struggling through the last few seasons, it finally feels like the club is back where it should be, and despite a rocky start, fans can thank Maresca for his tireless work on the touchline.

The Club World Cup has been the perfect opportunity for the squad to gel together ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, and with their performances so far, fans will be hoping for another trophy lift.
