Marcus Rashford sends message after another confirmed Man United exit

Marcus Rashford has taken to social media to respond to his former teammate’s confirmed loan move away from Man United.

Tyrell Malacia has joined PSV on loan from Man United until the end of the season after spending 17 months sidelined with injury setbacks.

Football Insider previously reported that Man United were prioritising a left-back signing in January, which led to the arrival of Patrick Dorgu from Lens. This move ultimately paved the way for Malacia’s temporary exit.

Despite his departure, both former and current United players showed their support for him online.

The Dutchman has taken to Instagram to confirm his loan move to PSV, resharing the Dutch club’s official post that welcomed him to Eindhoven.

While Bruno Fernandes had sent a farewell message to Malacia, more of his former United teammates joined in to wish him well.

Marcus Rashford, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa, commented “Twinny” while Anthony Elanga added, “My guy”. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who left United last summer, responded with emojis to show his support.

Malacia has struggled with injuries, making just nine appearances this season. In total, he has missed 70 games for United, spending approximately 500 days on the sidelines. Now, the move to PSV offers him a fresh start and a chance to revive his career.

Patrick Dorgu the left-back solution Manchester United needed

Football Insider Verdict

Many Man United fans criticised Malacia this season and wanted him sold following his inconsistent performances this season, so Dorgu’s arrival will be a welcome addition.

He has already started making an impact, featuring in the FA Cup clash against Leicester on 7 February.

With Luke Shaw frequently sidelined due to injuries, Malacia had an opportunity to reclaim his spot in the team. However, Ruben Amorim was seemingly unimpressed with his performances, leading to Dorgu’s signing.

The Danish defender also brings added versatility, having been deployed as a right wing-back, offering United more tactical flexibility moving forward.
