Marcus Rashford’s ‘Man United career is over – there’s no way back’

Marcus Rashford will leave Man United on a permanent deal this summer following his return from Aston Villa, sources have told Football Insider.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that “there is no way back” for the 27-year-old despite his performances during a successful spell at Villa Park.

Rashford has recently returned to the England setup under Thomas Tuchel and is enjoying his football away from Old Trafford and Ruben Amorim.

Unai Emery’s side have a £40million option to buy at the end of the season, but they are expected to face competition for his signature.

Former United and Villa scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Barcelona and Bayern Munich want to sign Rashford and are keeping tabs on his performances.

Man United plan to maximise Rashford profits after Villa form

Brown told Football Insider on 2 April that Aston Villa are the favourites to sign Rashford permanently after he has established himself as a key player under Emery.

Since his mid-season arrival at Villa Park, the England international has scored three goals and provided four assists in 11 appearances.

Rashford’s role in their recent success has not gone unnoticed and all parties are now keen to agree a deal that would see him remain in the West Midlands.

United are expected to facilitate a permanent move, but will aim to maximise their profits on his sale.

However, this comes after Football Insider revealed Rashford will cost £130million in total given the requirement to match his current £350,000-per-week wage cost over a five-year period as well as pay the £40million option.

Ruben Amorim plans to keep Bruno Fernandes after Real Madrid twist

Alongside Rashford, another player who has been linked with a big-money departure from Man United this summer is Bruno Fernandes.

Real Madrid are the latest side to be linked with a shock £90million move for Fernandes [Star] amid suggestions he could be open to a move away from the Premier League.

However, Brown told Football Insider that Man United will not sell Fernandes under any circumstances given his importance to Amorim’s plans.

This comes after the former scout revealed last month that Man United will do everything to keep Fernandes as they are not willing to see him leave.
