Mario Hermoso: Expert ‘encouraged’ by latest on Tottenham bid to sign ‘top-level’ star
Mario Hermoso is a top-level Champions League player and he’s “exactly what Tottenham need”.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On 15 April, The Daily Mail reported Tottenham’s interest in Atletico Madrid’s Hermoso.

The defender, 26, has made 32 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side this season.
He has two years left on his current deal and the Daily Mail’s report claims Atletico will sell for the right price this summer.
Wenham is “chuffed” with the links to Hermoso.
“I shared this report on my page and I only share stories that I think are relevant and possible,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“Hermoso is an interesting one because, for me, that is a top-level Champions League experienced player.
“He is someone who is well versed in the dark arts of Diego Simeone as well as being left-sided, which is exactly what we need.
“Would I have him? Absolutely. He’s not top of my list but if we could get him over the line I would be chuffed with that.
“We are being linked with some really, really good players at the moment and that’s very encouraging.”

Hermoso spent his youth at Real Madrid but never made an appearance for the senior side.
He has played for Spain on five occasions.
In other news, Tottenham have been tipped to spend a ‘war chest’ this summer after a source’s update on Giovani Lo Celso.
