Mark Lawrenson predicts Liverpool v Hull
By Harvey Byrne
Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson believes his old side will come as victors in their clash against Hull on Saturday.
The Reds are currently enjoying a successful campaign as they sit in fourth place and one point behind both Tottenham and Arsenal.
Meanwhile the Tigers are suffering a disastrous season with just 17 points from their 23 matches this season, leaving them in 19th place.
The Merseyside giants ran out emphatic 5-1 victors in their previous clash at Anfield in September.
Now, Lawrenson believes Liverpool will take six points off Hull this campaign and has predicted a 2-0 win for the Saturday clash.
“Hull got a great point at Old Trafford in midweek but this is another very tough game for them,” told Lawrenson to the BBC Sport website.
“After their run of poor form, Liverpool were much improved in their draw against Chelsea and, if Hull open up a bit against them, then they will punish them.”
Liverpool have struggled in 2017 with just one victory from their last nine matches in all competitions.
Meanwhile, Hull are going through similar form with two victories from six matches.
The Reds will know that they have to pick up all three points from the encounter if they still have aspirations of winning the league title.
However, Hull will also need to pick up a run of victories soon if they are to win survival.
A victory for Liverpool could see them move back into second place depending on other results, but a defeat could see them drop out of the Champions League places if Manchester City win or draw against a struggling Swansea.
