Mark Noble: West Ham legend may become GSB ‘mouthpiece’ after talks underway on new role – pundit
David Gold and David Sullivan may want to turn Mark Noble into their West Ham “mouthpiece” when he retires at the end of the season, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England full-back, who is close friends with David Moyes, delivered his verdict as West Ham open talks with their club captain about a post-playing role.
The Daily Mail reported on Tuesday (15 February) the club are keen to keep Noble on in a football executive role.

The 34-year-old is set to hang up his boots at the end of the current campaign after 18 seasons at his boyhood club.
A move upstairs may come as a surprise after his public criticism of the ownership over the selling of Grady Diangana in the summer of 2020.
“It all depends what that role actually is,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“It’s alright saying he’s going to step up to boardroom level but what does that mean? What influence will he have over who and what?
“Is he just going to be an ambassador? Is he just going to be a mouthpiece for the board to speak to the fans? Or will he have real influence on what happens at the football club?
“I think it may be the former. It’s a case of keeping him on, keeping him around the place in an ambassadorial role to put things out to the fans that the owners want out there.

“Once you’re in that sort of role you work for the football club. If you say the wrong things, they will get rid of you. Simple as that.
“If Sullivan and Gold say something they dismiss it but if Mark Noble says it they might listen to it.”
In other news, a 23-year-old may replace Noble in the West Ham midfield and £10million will seal the deal.
