Marseille reportedly in pole position, but Newcastle must re-sign pass master – opinion

Bargain price – potential profit

The report from the Sun states that Palace boss Frank de Boer is hopeful that he can get as much of the £10million Palace paid the Toon for his services back in the summer of 2015.

However, Newcastle could make a tidy little profit by signing him for less than the fee they received two years ago, which would please owner Mike Ashley.

If the Toon can strike a deal at around £7million for Cabaye, then they are a picking up a bargain in a proven Premier League performer that will see them take a mammoth leap towards survival.
