Martial ‘has no respect for Man United jersey’ after confirmed news – pundit
Anthony Martial “needed” to leave Man United after showing “no respect for the club or the jersey”, according to Paul Robinson.
The ex-Spurs and England number one, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, compared the 26-year-old to Arsenal outcast Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
On Tuesday night, Manchester United confirmed Martial had joined Sevilla on loan for the remainder of the season.
The France international leaves Old Trafford in search of regular first-team football having struggled for minutes under interim boss Ralf Rangnick.
Speaking to Sky Sports (16 January), Rangnick claimed Martial refused to be in his squad for the trip to Aston Villa.
The player later refuted his manager’s claims on his personal Instagram account.
When asked by Football Insider for his reaction to the departure, Robinson said: “Martial needed to go.
“His situation was similar to that of Aubameyang. That is the way he was acting off the field. Martial is a problem Manchester United don’t need.
“He does not have respect for the club or the jersey. Man United are one of the biggest clubs in the world. To hear he does not want to be involved in the squad… Most people would give their right arms to play for that club. But he didn’t want to be involved.”

Martial scored once in 11 appearances for the Red Devils this season.
He has two-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford.
