Martin Keown predicts West Ham v West Brom, delivers verdict on star player
By Dominic Toner
Martin Keown has predicted West Ham to record a goalless draw against West Brom and claims that Andy Carroll will be kept quiet.
The Hammers host the Baggies on Saturday in the Premier League in a clash between the two mid-table sides.
Slaven Bilic’s team have won three of their last four league matches and scored three goals in each victory, taking them up to ninth in the table.
Meanwhile, Saturday’s opponents West Brom are currently five points above them in eight and are enjoying a strong season.
Ex-Arsenal defender Keown claims that West Brom’s centre-back pairing will be able to nullify the threat of Carroll and expects a 0-0 scoreline in the match.
“Tony Pulis will put out a team with a level of stubbornness. They have enough in Gareth McAuley and Craig Dawson to keep Andy Carroll quiet,” Keown told the Daily Mail.
West Ham will be hoping that Andy Carroll can continue his recent form in front of goal as the 28-year-old has been prolific since his return from injury.
The striker has managed four goals in his last four games and has been a major reason behind the club’s climb up the table.
However, Carroll was forced off early in the recent 3-1 win against Southampton and Bilic admitted he will make a late decision on his fitness for the West Brom clash.
In other West Ham news, Tony Pulis has delivered his verdict on the club and shared what has been regained.
