Mason Mount reacts to Andre Onana’s Man United message amid exit claim
Andre Onana sent a heartfelt message to Man United fans despite the ongoing speculation surrounding his future at the club.
Onana kept a clean sheet in United’s 0-0 draw with rivals Man City in the Premier League, and while lacking in goals, the match didn’t come without controversy.
Former PGMOL chief Keith Hackett believes Man United were denied a penalty after Ruben Dias’ challenge on Alejandro Garnacho, which was given as a free-kick outside the box. VAR opted not to intervene, leaving many supporters frustrated.
Onana, however, was one of the positives on the day, putting in a composed display between the posts. It’s been a turbulent debut season for the Cameroonian, and Man United fans are convinced Onana is leaving with reported interest from Saudi Arabia.
Despite the noise, the 29-year-old showed his gratitude to the supporters after the final whistle and thanked fans for their support on the day.

Man United fans losing faith in Andre Onana after tough season
Onana took to Instagram with a message to fans following the Manchester derby, writing: “Thank you for always being there, Reds. Now it’s time to focus on Europe.”
His post received plenty of support from teammates, with Mason Mount, Bruno Fernandes and Christian Eriksen all showing appreciation by liking the post.
However, he has endured a difficult season at Old Trafford, and frustrations are starting to mount among the fanbase.
Many Man United supporters have called for Onana to be sold after a string of costly errors during his time at Old Trafford but especially this season.
Concerns over his form have been building for months. Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider in February that Man United staff are worried about Onana’s performances this season.
His struggles playing out from the back have often led to avoidable mistakes, only adding to the unrest. Despite managing 10 clean sheets, questions continue to be raised about his reliability between the posts.

Man United fans call for David de Gea return amid interest in Anthony Patterson
Onana was signed by Erik ten Hag for a hefty £47 million to replace long-time goalkeeper David de Gea. But after just two seasons, Man United fans are already calling for De Gea to return.
De Gea, now with Fiorentina, left United as a free agent after over a decade at the club. His name has resurfaced among fans who feel Onana has failed to meet expectations.
At the same time, Man United have been linked with Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson. While the Championship side remain confident of keeping hold of the 24-year-old, the interest from Old Trafford signals the club may already be considering their options.
For now, manager Ruben Amorim will be hoping Onana can build on his recent clean sheet and carry that momentum into the final stretch of the season, before any decisions about the goalkeeper’s future are made.
