Mason Mount sends message to Lisandro Martinez after Man United latest
Man United midfielder Mason Mount took to social media to send a message to teammate Lisandro Martinez after their 1-0 Premier League win over Fulham on Sunday (January 26).
Martinez, 27, scored the only goal in the 78th minute thanks to a heavy deflection from Fulham midfielder Sasa Lukic to secure a much-needed win for Ruben Amorim’s side.
Marco Silva’s side were frustrated that Martinez was on the pitch in the first place, seemingly catching Adama Traore with a two-footed tackle earlier in the game.
United’s win over Fulham sees Amorim’s side climb up to 12th with eight wins, five draws, ten defeats, and 29 points from their 23 Premier League games.
The Argentinian centre-back has been key for United so far this season, starting 29 of his 30 games across all competitions, scoring two goals, and providing two assists in his 2558 minutes of action.

Mount, 25, has been out of action since picking up a muscle injury in United’s 2-1 Premier League win over Man City back in December of last year.
The attacking midfielder has struggled with numerous setbacks since joining United from Chelsea back in 2023, making just 33 appearances and scoring one goal in his 18-month spell at the club.
Watching on from the sidelines, Mount took to Instagram to celebrate the much-needed win over Fulham, sending a message to Martinez, saying: “Butcherrr,” in reference to the defender’s nickname.
United’s attention will be on the Europa League after their win over Fulham as they prepare for a trip to Romania to face FCSB on Thursday (January 30).
Amrorim’s side will then host Crystal Palace in their first game of February, knowing a win could see them leapfrog Brentford in 11th.
