Aston Villa are set to listen to offers for Wesley after Keinan Davis' devastating injury blow, Football Insider understands.

Manager Dean Smith's plan this month was to loan out Davis to a Championship club and keep Wesley as back-up to Ollie Watkins.

A Villa source has told Football Insider that the club will now keep Davis until January as he starts his rehab and listen to permanent and loan offers for Wesley.

The U-turn on the original plan could see former record signing Wesley head out of the club by the 31 August cut-off.

It remains to be seen if they will reignite their interest now that the Brazilian is once again available for transfer.

Davis' hopes of regular football have been handed a crushing setback by the injury revealed by Football Insider last night.

Wesley has been playing for Villa in pre-season after two years at the club he joined for £22million from Club Bruges in the summer of 2019.

He only made his comeback in April after 16 months of injury hell that has ruined his Villa career.

Wesley scored six goals in 22 appearances before he broke down, but has subsequently seen Watkins supersede him as the main man up front.
