Sources: Bailey undergoes Aston Villa medical overseas after agreeing personal terms
Aston Villa will complete their second £30million-plus signing of the summer when Leon Bailey jets in to put pen to paper this week, Football Insider understands.
The winger, 23, is undergoing a Villa medical in Florida, where he has been on Concacaf Cup duty with Jamaica.
A Villa source has told Football Insider that Bailey has already agreed a long-term contract with the club and is set to fly into England in the coming days to put pen to paper on the deal.
The Midlands giants expect the transfer to be finalised by Friday.
Football Insider broke the news last Friday that Bailey had agreed to join Villa and that negotiations with Leverkusen were at an advanced stage.
The Premier League big spenders then announced the following day that an agreement was in place with the Bundesliga outfit.
It is understood that the fee is worth up to £35million including add-ons and follows the club-record June capture of Emiliano Buendia, who joined for an initial £33million rising to £38million from Norwich City.
Villa have pushed through the signing of Bailey ahead of the expected exit this week of Jack Grealish.
Bailey has been targeted as he is a versatile forward capable of operating on both the left and right flanks.
He had an impressive 2020-21 campaign for Villa, scoring 15 goals and supplying 11 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions
