Kenny hails 'massive' breaking Alioski news at Leeds United
Ezgjan Alioski can be a "disruptive" influence but his utility-man status makes him valuable to Leeds United.
That is according to ex-Whites stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively after Football Insider revealed on 4th June that Leeds have offered Alioski a new deal.
The left-sided 29-year-old's current Elland Road contract expires at the end of the month and his future at the club remains up in the air.
Signing a new deal would represent a dramatic u-turn but a source has told Football Insider today that the second offer Leeds have made to Alioski would provide a significant pay rise.
Leeds are also in the market for a new left-back and, as reported by this site on 2nd June, have set their sights on Huesca's Javi Galan.
Kenny claims that Alioski's versatility has led Leeds to offer him a bumper new contract despite growing competition at left-back.
He told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams: "He can be a bit of a disruptive influence. But he is still a good player and if they want to keep him, they want to keep him.
"So what do you do? If they are bringing another [left-back] in and they have Dallas who can play there, do they really need three left-backs?
"But he's a utility player which could be a massive part of their thinking why they're offering him a new deal, and an improved one too."
Alioski can play anywhere on the left flank and has occasionally filled in other positions too.
