Rangers pre-contract target Nnamdi Ofoborh is being lined up for a deadline-day loan move by Bournemouth amid extensive EFL club interest, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The 21-year-old is in advanced talks with Rangers over signing a deal that would see him join in the summer when his Cherries contract expires.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Bournemouth are resigned to losing Ofoborh and are ready to loan him out on Monday's final day of the January window even if he signs a pre-contract.

There is interest in Ofoborh from Sheffield Wednesday, Watford, Wycombe Wanderers, Rotherham United, Lincoln City, Portsmouth and Charlton Athletic.

The versatile operator, who can play in defence and midfield, is primed to head out of the Vitality Stadium by Monday's 11pm cut-off.

Rangers had hoped to tie it up last week and announce Ofoborh as one of three pre-contract signings along with his Bournemouth teammate Jack Simpson and Aberdeen's Scott Wright.

But a formal agreement is not yet in place despite advanced negotiations.

Cross-border rules allow the runaway Scottish Premiership leaders to secure Ofoborh's signature from January onwards.

Rangers are expected to be busy on deadline day.

The Glasgow giants announced the capture of Simpson, 24, on a pre-contract agreement last week.

But the club are also in talks with the Cherries over a deal which see the move happen now, rather than in the summer.
