Hull City have set their sights on signing Tottenham starlet Marcel Lavinier after he rejected a new contract, sources have told Football Insider.

The 21-year-old has been omitted from Spurs under-21s’ opening three Premier League 2 matches of the campaign against Everton, Leicester City, Man City due to his contract issues.

Now Hull have registered their interest in a loan deal for Lavinier, amid interest from rival Championship clubs.

Tottenham hope to extend Lavinier's contract before sending him out on loan for the season.

The right-back's current agreement expires at the end of June 2023.

Lavinier was a regular in the Spurs youth set-up during the 2021-22 campaign and made 19 appearances in Premier League 2.

The defender joined Tottenham's development squad on a free transfer in October 2020 following his release from Chelsea.

The London-born full-back spent 12 years in Chelsea's academy.

Lavinier could be the latest youngster to leave Tottenham on loan this summer.

Highly-rated strikers Troy Parrott and Dane Scarlett have joined Preston North End and Portsmouth respectively on season-long loan deals.
