Leeds United are in advanced talks to sign Birmingham City sensation Amari Miller, Football Insider has learned.

The 18-year-old forward made a big impression after breaking into the Birmingham side in the final weeks of the season.

A source has told Football Insider Leeds have moved quickly to offer a contract to Miller and the Championship side will not stand in the way of him leaving.

But the big-spending Merseysiders are now set to miss out on his signature to Leeds.

Miller’s future at St Andrew's has been up in the air as the club look to overhaul their youth set-up.

The club confirmed in their retained list that Miller was one of five second-year scholars to be offered professional terms.

He featured in five games at the end of last season and was handed consecutive starts after the Blues secured their Championship status.

Leeds have been aggressive in their pursuit of the country's best young talent after their academy was given Category 1 status last summer.

Mark Jackson's Under-23 side romped home to the Premier League 2 Division 2 title last term.

The Whites added youngsters Joe Gelhardt, Charlie Allen, Cody Drameh and Sam Greenwood last summer.

While none of them regularly broke through into Marcelo Bielsa's senior side, Greenwood did make his first-team debut in the FA Cup.
