'They'll move him on' - Exclusive: Hutton tips Spurs to sell 22yo Pochettino favourite

Alan Hutton has tipped Tottenham Hotspur to sell Mauricio Pochettino favourite Juan Foyth this summer. 

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs full-back suggested that the 22-year-old Argentina international could be on his way out of the club at the first available opportunity.

Football Insider revealed yesterday that Jose Mourinho's men are expecting to offload the versatile defender in the summer transfer window, despite the manager blocking his exit last month.

And Hutton believes that the time has come for the player to seek a new challenge elsewhere.

"He’s had a lot of chances if we’re honest," he told Football Insider.

"I know [Mauricio] Pochettino must have liked him. He had some game time under him, so it’s not like he’s never had an opportunity to go and prove himself.

"I always thought he was very rash - big tackles, and every time he played you just thought he was going to do something, whether it be getting sent off or whatever.

"I think he has had an opportunity, and I think they’ll look to move him on I would have thought. The writing is on the wall.

"He hasn’t played too much under Mourinho, and I don’t think he’s really his type of player.

"I do think that he’s one they will look to move on, probably with a few others also."

Foyth joined Spurs in 2017 on a five-year contract for a fee of around £11.7 million, and has gone on to make a total of 32 appearances for the first team in north London.

Opportunities have been scarce this season, however, with the South American limited to just four appearances in the Premier League.
