Everton were defeated on penalties by Sunderland after a 1-1 draw on Saturday, as a dismal performance saw them knocked out of the FA Cup.

Few Toffees players can hold their heads high as any chance of the Merseyside club winning a cup this season were dashed at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

For many supporters, it was a repeat of the embarrassing defeat to Wolves in the Carabao Cup earlier this season, with David Moyes’ changes not paying off.

While many players were poor on Saturday, one of the worst culprits was Tyler Dibling, who continues to underperform since his summer move.

Everton fans fume with Tyler Dibling display against Sunderland

Everton’s signing of Dibling has simply not worked out to date.

Coming in from Southampton in the summer, the winger has rarely shown signs of quality throughout.

Now, the winger has been unable to return to form, with supporters now fully turning on the youngster after they crashed out of the FA Cup.

Many fans also compared Dibling to Adam Aznou, stating that the latter star was far better than the former Southampton player despite his brief cameo from the bench.

How bad was Dibling against Sunderland?

According to Fotmob on 10 January, Dibling was simply awful against the Black Cats.

The winger created little to nothing and was consistently losing the ball for the hosts.

Overall, he was dispossessed twice, failed to complete a single cross, and only created one chance throughout the match.

As the weeks go on, it is becoming clearer and clearer that Dibling is simply not up to Premier League standards.

Whether this is the fault of Moyes or not is irrelevant, and the Toffees have to target a loan move for the attacker.

Dibling still have plenty of potential, and could one day become a top player at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

However, as it stands, his performances are not helping anyone, and he has to find his confidence elsewhere before it costs Dibling and Everton further.
