Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen respond to Wolves announcement

Wolves stars have come together on social media after a new development was announced at Molineux.

The Midlands club have steered away from the relegation zone in recent weeks, only losing two of their last six league matches and seeing a nine-point gap open up on 18th-place Ipswich Town.

Vitor Pereira has installed a newfound hope at Molineux, with relegation down to the Championship ahead of next season seeming less likely now, but the summer transfer window is quickly approaching.

Matheus Cunha has expressed his desire to leave Wolves once again, and with Football Insider understanding that Liverpool are the latest team to join the race, he is unlikely to stay this summer.

Jorgen Strand Larsen is believed to have signed permanently after triggering the clause in his loan deal [Express & Star], and the two have come together to congratulate a teammate following the club’s new announcement.

The likes of Rayan Ait-Nouri, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Toti Gomes and Marshall Munetsi all liked the post as well, showing support for their teammate, who is set to stay with Wolves until 2030.

Vitor Pereira has tough challenge on his hands next season

Football Insider verdict

Pereira will not be thinking about the summer transfer window in the slightest just yet, with Premier League safety no guarantee with nine matches of the season remaining.

Both Ipswich and Leicester City could pull off a great escape, which the latter have done before, but it is unlikely given the amount of pressure Ruud van Nistelrooy is under at the King Power.

Wolves are still at risk of being relegated.

However, it will take more than just Mosquera extending his stay in the Midlands to keep Wolves up next season, especially if Cunha is one of the first players to leave this summer.

Strand Larsen hasn’t yet been confirmed as staying with Wolves, but with Carlos Forbs finishing his loan and Hwang Hee-chan underperforming, Pereira will be extremely limited with attacking options, albeit the defensive signings have been positive.

Mosquera’s absence has certainly been a shame, having started the season so well in just his first five appearances, but the likes of Emmanuel Agbadou and Gomes provide a steady base for a summer project.
