Matheus Cunha reacts to Ibrahima Konate’s message amid Liverpool links
Ibrahima Konaté has sent fans a new message on social media with Liverpool needing just two more wins to claim the Premier League title.
Arne Slot‘s men are on the cusp of winning the league after they survived a nervous second-half performance against West Ham to win 2-1.
The brilliance of the newly-tied down Mohamed Salah was on show once more, when the 32-year-old found Luis Diaz at the back post with his signature trivela pass to tap home.
However, as the tension from the Anfield crowd increased with the visitors’ impressive start to the second-half, West Ham got back into the game after a mix-up between Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson with the latter putting the ball into his own net.
Then, just as the supporters thought the points would be shared, Liverpool‘s captain atoned for his earlier error, meeting Alexis Mac Allister’s fine corner to put the hosts ahead with minutes to go.

In a message to the Liverpool fans from Konate’s official instagram account on Sunday (13 April), the defender said: “We know how important the next two battles will be for everyone! Thank you again for your support and for this final sprint! We need you like never before! Preparations are already starting”.
The French international’s message was met with reactions from multiple Premier League stars, including teammate Mac Allister, Antonio Rudiger, and opponent on the day Jean-Clair Todibo.
Also liking the message was exit-bound Wolves star Matheus Cunha, who is linked to a Liverpool move this summer.

Despite not having their best game against Graham Potter‘s West Ham, the partnership of Konate and Van Dijk has been crucial to Liverpool’s success this season.

Konate appears to be benefitting to playing alongside Van Dijk on a regular basis, with the 25-year-old solidifying himself as the outright starting centre-back under Slot.
Liverpool can now clinch the title as early as next weekend, should Arsenal lose to Ipswich, as the Reds will know victory over Leicester would mathematically secure the title with five games to spare.
