Matheus Nunes sends warning message to Man City teammate Bernardo Silva
Matheus Nunes sent a warning message to his Man City teammate Bernardo Silva on social media.
Both Portuguese midfielders have endured difficult seasons with the Sky Blues, and Nunes was subjected to some strange and disparaging comments by Pep Guardiola after the 0-0 draw with Man United on 6 April.
Silva, meanwhile, has been linked with a move away from Man City, having been with the club since his move from AS Monaco in 2017.
However, whilst it has been a difficult season for all involved on the blue side of Manchester, both players played crucial roles in Man City’s 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Tuesday (22 April).
Silva opened the scoring in the seventh minute and whilst Marcus Rashford was on hand to net an equaliser for the Villains, Nunes was on hand to grab a late winner for Guardiola’s side.

Following the late winner, City posted a video to their Instagram page of the players celebrating Nunes’ late winner.
However, in the heat of the moment, Silva’s playful grab at the midfielder’s hair appears to have inflicted more pain than intended, with the 26-year-old visibly wincing.
Nunes then reposted the video on his Instagram story, captioned with the playful warning: “vais ver”, which translates to “you’ll see”.

Football Insider Verdict
Following the 0-0 draw in the Manchester derby, Guardiola’s decision to call out Nunes for being “not clever enough” to play in midfield felt wildly unnecessary.
The Portuguese midfielder has been largely used as a makeshift right-back this season and was categorically not the worst player on the pitch.
However, and this may have been why Guardiola made those comments, Nunes has stepped up in City’s two most recent games.
Against Everton, the ex-Wolves man picked out Nico O’Reilly to give the Sky Blues the lead late on in a crucial 2-0 win.
Then, three days later, it was Nunes again taking matters into his own hands by scoring a late winner to maintain City’s push for Champions League football.
