Matt Le Tissier knows who’s to blame over Wolves transfer fails, and it’s not the owners
Wolves’ under-fire owners Fosun do not deserve the full blame for the club’s current woes as fans continue to revolt against them following a poor start to the season.
That is according to Premier League legend Matt Le Tissier, who has exclusively told Football Insider that the Molineux chiefs will feel as if they have done their best to prepare the team for this season in the transfer market.
Wolves have endured a nightmare start to the new season, with no league wins in any of their first 14 games to currently sit bottom of the Premier League.
They are already eight points from safety at this early stage, and Vitor Pereira unsurprisingly lost his job as Wolves boss last weekend after their latest defeat away at Fulham.
The Old Gold’s owners, Fosun Group, have been widely criticised by fans for their role in the recent downfall of the club, with constant calls for them to sell up and move on as relegation looms.

Wolves owners under fire amid poor form and sale rumours
Pereira was handed a new contract as Wolves boss just 45 days before being dismissed, in a clear sign of uncertainty and poor planning behind the scenes.
Some high-profile stars in Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri left Molineux over the summer, with many fans feeling like the club chiefs and Pereira failed to replace such star quality with who was brought in.
Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness recently told Football Insider that he feels the blame for Wolves’ struggles ultimately lies on Fosun due to their hands-off approach.

Former Crystal Palace shareholder John Textor has emerged as a surprise name to buy Wolves in the near future, with reports stating that he has tabled a bid of £150million in cash and a further £262.2m in shares, so there could soon be some relief for their fans who want fresh ideas at board level.
Le Tissier insists that blame cannot solely be on Fosun amid Wolves’ struggles
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former England and Southampton striker Le Tissier admitted that it is tough to place blame without knowledge of the intricacies inside Molineux, and urged Wolves fans to take a more open view when criticising their under-pressure owners.
He said: “We know that they’ve sold quite a few players. Without understanding the financial situation, it’s difficult to have a go at the owners, because some owners really do stick their hands in their pockets and sometimes they’re not rewarded by the staff that they put in place in terms of what they use that money to buy.

“And so if they have given the manager (Pereira) enough funds and he and the recruitment department haven’t spent it wisely, can you really blame that on the ownership? That’s the question that you have to ask.
“I don’t know the ins and outs of Wolves’ finances well enough to be able to sit here and go, ‘no, the owners have not really invested in the club’ or ‘it’s not really the manager’s fault,’ because if they have dipped their hand in their pocket enough, then you’ve got to look elsewhere for blame.”
