Matt Le Tissier rips into Nottingham Forest for ‘massive cock-up’
Evangelos Marinakis is solely to blame for Nottingham Forest’s current woes after Ange Postecoglou was sacked over the weekend following just 39 days in charge.
That is according to Premier League legend Matt Le Tissier, who exclusively told Football Insider that the managers job at the City Ground may now be less attractive due to Marinakis’ recent actions with Ange Postecoglou and Nuno Espirito Santo.
Forest lost 3-0 at home to Chelsea on Saturday (18 October) and the decision was taken shortly after the defeat to relieve the former Tottenham boss of his duties.
Postecoglou was only hired last month after Nuno had been sacked due to irreparable differences with Marinakis and transfer chief Edu Gaspar.
The 60-year-old oversaw eight games at the helm with the East Midlands outfit, but failed to win a single one with two draws and six losses to his name before the decision was taken to let him go.

Le Tisser blames Marinakis for Forest struggles
Marinakis is certainly not scared to cause controversy and be at the front and centre of everything that happens at the club, but Football Insider recently revealed that numerous managers are still interested in the Forest job despite his eccentric antics.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former England and Southampton striker Le Tissier insisted that Marinakis is the cause of the club’s current woes, as they sit in the Premier League relegation zone, and is unsure if potential new appointments will be open to the job because of the Greek owner.
He said: “It is a mess and it is all on Marinakis. And, you know, Forest fans, sometimes you have to look at the bloke at the top who’s making the decision when the managers start getting changed so frequently. What he’s done by sacking Ange after 39 days, what he’s saying is ‘I’ve made a massive cock up.’
“And yet, you know, despite the fact that he’s the one that makes the massive cock up, obviously it’s other people that pay the price and he gets to decide because it’s his ball. And if you don’t want to play with it, you go home.
“Unfortunately when you have an owner like Marinakis, yes, he does drive people to achieve things, but there does appear to be a bit of an ego problem around that situation. From my perspective, if I was a manager at the moment who was out of work, or even in a job, I was approached by Nottingham Forest, I’m not sure I’d want to take that on.
“I think I’d want to have a club that was a little bit, had a little bit more of a stable owner, you know, somebody with a far more level headed, who would look at things dispassionately. And so yeah, if I was in that position, I probably wouldn’t take that Forest job at the moment.”
Sean Dyche is set to take over as Forest boss
Despite his antics, Marinakis looks to have been able to appoint a new manager pretty quickly after Postecoglou’s exit, with ex-Everton and Burnley boss Sean Dyche now closing in on the vacant Forest job.
Dyche has been out of work since he was sacked by Everton in January after nearly two years in charge, when they were only one point above the relegation zone having won just three of their previous nineteen games.

The 54-year-old was also the Burnley manager for ten years between 2012 and 2022, during which time he led them to Championship promotion twice, a seventh-placed Premier League finish in 2018 and another top-half finish in 2020.
Dyche is expected to sign a long-term deal with the East Midlands outfit after the likes of Roberto Mancini and Marco Silva were also linked with the job, and his first task is set to come on Thursday (23 October) as Forest take on Porto in their third Europa League game of the campaign
