Matuesz Klich could now stay at Leeds United after talks twist – pundit

Alan Hutton has claimed Leeds United can keep hold of Mateusz Klich if he is a regular starter.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender urged Klich to grab whatever opportunity he is given in the second half of the season.

According to MLSSoccer journalist Tom Bogert (9 December), DC United are in advanced talks to sign the 32-year-old.

Klich is said to viewed as a someone that could be a key player under head coach Wayne Rooney.

As quoted by BBC Sport (8 December), Whites boss Jesse Marsch confirmed there have been “conversations” over the midfielder’s future but insisted “nothing is concrete”.

Klich has just over 18 months left on his contract at Elland Road after joining in 2017.

The centre-mid has made 11 league appearances for Marsch’s side so far this season.

When asked if Leeds will want to keep hold of Klich, Hutton told Football Insider:Why not?

11 appearances is not bad. We are not talking about somebody who has not played any football. We are not that far into a season so I think there is always opportunity to break back in.

Leeds United

The manager would have been assessing the squad over this break. Who can come and make a difference for the second part of the season?

It is all about taking the opportunity when you are given it and can you grasp it so the ball is really in his court.

In other news, a pundit has claimed that Philipp Max signing could fix major Leeds United problem.
