McAvennie ‘convinced’ this is how Rangers-Celtic title race will be decided
Rangers’ title battle with Celtic could be decided by the result of the last Old Firm game of the season.
That’s according to former Hoops hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider with both Glasgow sides “don’t look like losing any time soon”.
Since losing to Celtic on 2 February, Rangers have beaten Hearts, Hibernian and Annan Athletic.

Across these games, the Gers have scored 10 goals without reply and kept themselves firmly in the title race as well as progressing in the Scottish Cup.
McAvennie insists Rangers aren’t going anywhere and will push Celtic right until the end of the season.
“Teams can crumble after a result like that,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“What Rangers have done is exactly what they needed to. They have been solid at the back and with Morelos back in they are scoring goals.
“The title race obviously isn’t over and whichever team wins it from this point will absolutely deserve it.
“Celtic and Rangers don’t look like losing any time soon. I still think the title will be decided in the Old Firm games.
“Sometimes teams Celtic or Rangers will drop points against the poorer sides in the league but I just can’t see that happening.
“Both teams are playing at such an incredibly high standard now. I’m convinced it will be the Old Firm games.
“I think both managers know that as well and Rangers well, they want revenge after we hammered them a few weeks ago.”

The next Old Firm clash is scheduled for 3 April at Ibrox.
There will then be another clash at Parkhead after the yearly league split.
In other news, pundit suggests Christopher Jullien “like a new signing” as “brilliant” Celtic pictures emerge.
