McAvennie fears Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to ‘be in trouble’ after confirmed Chelsea news
Frank McAvennie has told Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to be careful following Thomas Tuchel’s sacking by Chelsea.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said Aubameyang, 33, will be in “trouble” if he repeats the “nonsense” seen at Arsenal.
On 7 September, the Blues confirmed they had parted ways with Tuchel.
A day later the London club confirmed Graham Potter has been appointed as their new head coach.
Aubameyang spent two years working with Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund and was said to be excited to reunite with the German.
As reported by the Telegraph (8 September), co-owners Todd Bohely and Behdad Eghbali personally phoned the striker to reassure him following Tuchel’s exit from Stamford Bridge.
Aubameyang had a fallout with Mikel Arteta at Arsenal which saw him stripped of the captaincy.
The Gabon international eventually had his contract terminated in order to join Barcelona on a free transfer in January.
McAvennie has urged Aubameyang not to make the same mistakes at Chelsea.
“If he starts all that nonsense that he did at Arsenal he’ll be in trouble,” he told Football Insider.
“Aubameyang went to Chelsea because of Tuchel, that’ll not be doing well for the next manager that comes in.

“Obviously something has happened at Barcelona as well.
“You can’t pick your manager, it’s the owners that do that and a lot of the time players don’t get on with managers but once you get on the park you’ve got to put those differences aside and do it for yourself, your family and the fans.“
