McAvennie issues emphatic Rangers transfer claim after journalist’s Ryan Kent update
Frank McAvennie has claimed Ryan Kent is the only player likely to leave Rangers this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker said no one else in the squad is good enough for move away.
According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, as reported in GiveMeSport (26 June), Aston Villa could make a move for the 25-year-old.

Steven Gerrard knows the player well from their time together at Rangers.
Kent joined the Gers in 2019 and has less than a year remaining on his contract at Ibrox.
McAvennie said Kent is the only player he could see leaving the Glasgow giants this summer.
“I think Kent’s the only one likely to move,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s the only one that people will be willing to pay money for at the moment.
“I think Rangers have got a lot of good players but they’re not consistent enough. Kent comes into that bracket as well, he’ll have six good games and then three bad ones – you can’t do that.
“You’re bad games have got to be a six or seven out of ten, to be one of the good players. I think Kent could be that player but not at the moment.
“The manager, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, will freshen him up.”

Kent made 24 appearances for Rangers in the league last season, and another 22 across all other competitions.
He scored three goals and provided 20 assists in all competitions.
