McAvennie issues emphatic Tottenham claim after what he’s seen from ‘miracle worker’
Frank McAvennie is “confident” Tottenham will end their trophy drought under Antonio Conte.
The former West Ham hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, has been blown away by Spurs’ performances under the Italian.
Conte, 52, has led Tottenham to six wins from his first 10 games in charge of the club.

His side have also only lost once, against NS Mura in the Europa Conference League on 25 November.
Spurs have also progressed to the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup after beating West Ham on 22 December.
McAvennie has been so impressed with Conte he claims Tottenham will win their first trophy since 2008 with him at the helm.
“As a former West Ham player I hate to say it but Conte will work miracles at that club,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He’s already doing it. I think the chances of them winning a trophy has gone up considerably.
“They could easily win the League Cup this season. Chelsea and Arsenal aren’t all that and Liverpool don’t take it seriously.
“I think Manchester City will always be a problem but this Tottenham side beat them earlier this season.
“I just look at the way they are playing and the confidence they have, it hasn’t been like that at Tottenham for a long time.
“Conte was absolutely the right man for the job, why they didn’t get him in the summer I will never know.

“I think it’s because he was waiting for Man United. What a mistake that looks from them now.
“From what I’ve seen so far, I’m confident Conte will win trophies at Tottenham.”
