Ally McCoist has destroyed ex-Celtic striker Chris Sutton for his comparison between Graeme Murty and Brendan Rodgers following Rangers' 2-1 defeat against Dundee at Dens Park on Friday night.

The two BT Sport pundits continued their war of words after the final whistle at Dens Park when Sutton suggested that Rangers caretaker manager Murty made the same mistake as what McCoist believed Rodgers made in Paris.

However the former Ibrox striker and manager completely refused that notion and destroyed the outspoken Sutton as the two came to blows once more.

"You can't compare [them]. Please tell me you're not," blasted McCoist when Sutton suggested a comparison between Murty and Rodgers, as shown on BT Sport Football's official Twitter account.

"Do me a favour."

Sutton responded: "I'm not saying that, Ally. Did Graeme Murty set his team up right tonight? "

McCoist then went on to suggest that Rangers senior man Murty doesn't actually want to be in his current position at Ibrox after being thrusted into the caretaker role for a second time in 2017.

"Graeme Murty is in a position that he clearly does not want to be in," he added as Sutton continued arguing.

Rangers have now lost two games in a row under the caretaker charge of Murty, who has lost two of four games since Pedro Caixinha was sacked over four weeks ago.
