Done deal: Midfield goal machine agrees terms with Celtic

Callum McGregor has agreed the terms of a new contract with Celtic, it was announced today (Thursday).

The Scottish champions revealed on their official Twitter account and official website this morning that midfield goal machine McGregor has penned a four-year deal.

It will keep him at the club until the summer of 2021.

The central midfielder has been at the club since he was aged eight and has gone on to play at every age level for his boyhood club.

McGregor moved up to the senior squad in 2013 and since then has make 120 appearances across all competitions, scoring 21 goals and providing 25 assists.

The Scotsman was sidelined for his side’s hammering against PSG but has featured in all five of the Hoops’ Premiership games this season, scoring three goals and supplying two assists.

The midfielder is the third player to put pen to paper at Parkhead this week following fellow first teamers Scott Brown and Jozo Simunovic.

In other Celtic news, the club have launched a £1.5million bid to sign a midfielder from Premier League giants.
