McLeish issues ‘dangerous’ claim after confirmed Rangers news
PSV Eindhoven are a “dangerous” team for Rangers to play in the final round of Champions League qualifying.
That’s according to former Gers boss Alex McLeish, speaking exclusively to Football Insider after the Gers progressed to the final Champions League qualifying round.
Rangers beat Union Saint-Gilloise 3-0 on Tuesday (9 August) to keep their Champions League dream alive.
The Gers will face PSV Eindhoven on 16 August and 14 August as they look to make a long-awaited return to the Champions League group stage.
“Ibrox has always been a difficult place for teams to go throughout the years,” McLeish told Football Insider’s Ben Wild.
“There was a wee spell last year under Van Bronckhorst where teams were picking up the odd draw at Ibrox, you’re beginning to think it’s losing its magic.
“It was a shock result last week and then a fantastic performance last night. Ibrox is a fortress. If you looked at the Dortmund papers the day after they lost, they were raving about Rangers’ stadium and their support.
“All of a sudden people will be saying Rangers should be able to take care of PSV. We know they are experienced in these Champions League games.
“It’s a dangerous tie, they are up another level but you can’t say Rangers are not going to produce significant performances that will take them to the group stage.”

Antonio Colak, James Tavernier and Malik Tillman were the scorers against USG.
The Light Blues are next in action against St Johnstone on Saturday (13 August).
