McLeish suggests Celtic to sign Euro striker to replace Edouard as bid readied
Alex McLeish has suggested Celtic could sign a striker of “European class” should Odsonne Edouard be sold this summer.
The former Scotland manager, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Hoops would already have targets lined up to fill 23-year-old’s boots.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Saturday (August 14th) that OGC Nice are lining up a bid to sign the Celtic striker.
The 23-year-old’s contract expires at the end of this season.
As quoted by Glasgow Live, Ange Postecoglou confessed there was a “concern” about cashing in on Edouard as a result.
It is understood Celtic may have to accept less than £20million after slashing his price tag from £45million last summer.

However, McLeish suggested Celtic would already have a proven goal scorer lined up to take his place.
“They have to be lining someone up to replace him and I expect they are,” he told Football Insider‘s Russell Edge.
“That’s a big part of the job.
“Celtic must already have a list of players they believe will fit the bill, someone who knows their way around the penalty box.
“The fans will expect someone with European class to come in and fill the shoes of a player like Edouard.”
It is understood Leuven striker Thomas Henry is among the Hoops’ targets.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Saturday (August 14th) the French hitman wants to join the Hoops ahead of Rangers.
Edouard has contributed 84 goals and 38 assists in 174 games for Celtic.
The Frenchman joined on an initial loan from PSG in 2017, before making the move permanent the following year.
