McLeish tips Aston Villa to strike more money-spinning transfers after £15m reveal
Alex McLeish has tipped Aston Villa to strike some money-spinning transfer deals thanks to an impressive recruitment strategy.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Villa boss insisted his old side had proven “they mean business” with their dealings this summer.
Villa have signed Danny Ings, Emi Buendia, Leon Bailey, Ashley Young and Axel Tuanzebe so far.

As revealed by Football Insider on Thursday (26th August), Roma have opened preliminary talks to sign Anwar El Ghazi.
Villa are willing to let the 26-year-old leave for around £15million after bolstering their attack.
They signed El Ghazi for a reported £8million.
McLeish suggested the Villans’ transfer strategy could see them continue to make big profit in the future.
McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “What you can see at Villa is they are making sure they become a fixture in the Premier League. Not scrambling every year, fighting in the bottom five, six or seven.
“They got over that hurdle a couple of seasons ago. They have spent well, they backed the manager extremely well. Now they are continuing to do that.
“What they’re doing is making sure they’re a permanent fixture in the Premier League. It was a disaster for them to go down a few years ago. It took them such a long time to get back up.
“You see now that they mean business. They’re bringing in players of a quality to bolster them, to make sure they can compete with the top teams, the top players, in the Premier League.

“There’s going to be some guys who are already at that point. But also one or two that they’ve scouted, recruitment-wise, that can raise the bar of potential.
“They could make that player even better and possibly raise the profile and raise the price of what that player might cost in a couple of years.”
