McManus backs Celtic to complete striker signing as fans start turning on Kyogo Furuhashi
Kyogo Furuhashi is under pressure at Celtic with fans starting to lose their patience after another goalless display.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the striker’s most recent performance.
Kyogo, 27, failed to test the Aberdeen defence as a late Callum McGregor goal handed the Hoops a narrow 1-0 win on Saturday (17 December).
In the 52nd minute, he missed a tap-in from just a few yards away from the goal line as the Japan international cut a frustrated figure.
McManus claims Kyogo is now under pressure to perform with fans wanting the club to sign a new striker in January.
“I think he is under a little bit of pressure at the minute,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“Celtic supporters will be wanting another striker in this window. Kyogo has scored a lot of goals but he has missed a lot of chances as well.
“I think the patience of some supports is wearing a bit thin with him to be honest, he missed quite a few chances in the game at the weekend and it’s not the first time that has happened.
“I think the fans will want another striker in January just for a bit more competition. There is also still speculation about Giakoumakis so I think the fans will be wanting that new striker.

“Kyogo needs to improve his conversion rate, it’s that simple.
“He should have so many more goals than he has done so I do now think he is under pressure to perform.”
In other news, McAvennie has backed Celtic to accept £6m+ Giorgos Giakoumakis offer.
