McManus issues ‘huge’ Kyogo Furuhashi prediction amid Celtic ’embarrassment’

Kyogo Furuhashi has been backed to recover his best form after scoring as Celtic beat Motherwell on Wednesday (19 October).

That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Japan star’s start to the season.

Furuhashi, 27, has scored eight goals in 14 games this season with three of those coming in a 9-0 win over Dundee United on 28 August.

The striker hasn’t impressed McManus so far this season though he now claims he could score even more goals in the coming weeks.

“Celtic had a wobble a few weeks ago against St Mirren,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.

“I do think that knocked their confidence a little bit. One defeat can really shake a team’s confidence and that game against Motherwell was always going to be tough after going out with a whimper in the two games against Leipzig.

“Now they are back in business, especially after hammering Hibs at the weekend. Then there was another hammering against Motherwell and that could have been six or seven as well.

“They do have an embarrassment of riches up front now. Kyogo got himself on the scoresheet again, that’s been huge for him because his performances haven’t quite been what we have expected from him this season.

“If he can get back firing then Celtic will be very, very hard to beat because there are a lot of goals in that team.”

Celtic

Furuhashi scored 20 goals in 33 total games for Celtic last season.

He missed three months of the campaign through injury.

In other news, McManus has claimed this is when Ange Postecoglou will leave Celtic to join a ‘bigger’ club
