Medical insider: Erling Haaland feels ‘invincible’ after bizarre Man City reveal

Erling Haaland’s bizarre diet will make him feel “invincible” when playing for Man City.

That is the view of medical expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in injury and data analysis.

Haaland revealed in a recent documentary ‘Haaland: The Big Decision’, as relayed by the Daily Mail this week (10 October, that he eats heart and liver to ensure he is in peak condition.

The 22-year-old has proven his diet is working after scoring 20 goals in just 12 appearances this season.

“If you look at those pillars of performance, we’re talking about players performing at the highest level, small margins can make such a big difference,” Dinnery told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.

“Nutrition underpins every aspect of what happens on the football pitch. If you’re talking about tactical ability, technical ability and scoring goals, unless you are leading your life right away from the pitch you are never going to fulfill your potential.

“Even this clean ancestral diet is a way that he believes he can leave no stone unturned.

“If he can manage every aspect away from the club as best you can you leave Pep and his staff do what they do and you hope the two will combine.

“All that Erling Haaland needs to do is put himself in a place where he is capable of performing and playing twice or three times a week.

“You have to consider how you live your life, how you fuel your body and how you need to adapt within a season and within a week. Whether you’re loading for a match or have a post-event strategy.

“All of this culminates in improving that recovery time, reducing muscle soreness, limiting injuries and improving your chances of performing the best you can.

“If that’s what works for Erling Haaland and it seems to be doing an alright job at this moment of time.

“Psychologically as well as all of that, if you get that placebo effect by eating all this food you become invincible, unbreakable and that extra yard faster.

“You want to continue that because a lot of the time, at the highest level, it’s that elite mentality that separates those very good players to those that are world-class.”
