Medical Today: Burnley agree deal for Man City defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis – Sources

Burnley have agreed a deal to sign Taylor Harwood-Bellis and the Man City defender will undergo a medical on Friday, Football Insider understands.

A number of clubs have shown interest in the 20-year-old this summer but the Clarets are set to win the race to his signature.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that a deal has been agreed between the two clubs and Harwood-Bellis has been given the permission to have a medical.

The centre-half is keen on a move to Turf Moor and a deal should sealed in the next 24 hours.

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany has made England under-21 international a priority signing in this window.

Kompany knows the player from his time at Manchester City and signed him when in charge of Anderlecht last season.

Harwood-Bellis spent the first half of the 2021-22 campaign on loan with the Belgium giants.

The centre-back made 19 appearances across all competitions during the temporary spell.

A product of City’s esteemed academy, Harwood-Bellis has also enjoyed loan spells with Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers during his career.

He has made seven appearances for Man City since his debut against Preston North End in September 2019.

Burnley are in need of centre-backs ahead of the new season after seeing James Tarkowski and Ben Mee leave Turf Moor earlier this summer.

The Championship club have already added Luke McNally and Scott Twine to their squad in this window.

In other news, a source has revealed that Luton Town are in advanced talks to sign player from Derby County.
