Three signings completed: Pundit issues ‘massive’ Celtic claim after Sky update
Noel Whelan has hailed Ange Postecoglou’s transfer record at Celtic after completing three signings from Japan.
The former Aberdeen striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 56-year-old “deserves massive credit” for his work in the Asian market.
According to journalist Dan Orlowitz (30 December), forward Daizen Maeda and midfielder Yosuke Ideguchi have flown to Europe for medicals ahead of a move to Celtic.

Sky Sports delivered an update at 11:25am on Friday that Celtic have now completed the triple signing of Maeda, Ideguchi and Reo Hatate.
Whelan hinted that these new additions could be the “catalyst” needed to usurp defending Scottish Premiership champions Rangers.
“We’ve seen his track record with transfers already at Celtic, he deserves massive credit,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He’s tapped into a market which is relatively unknown, and he’s brought the best out of it. Now he’s looking to do so again.
“He’ll be targeting players who can come in and improve that side, and why not put your trust in him after what we’ve seen this season?
“These three signings will be massive and might be that added push that will bring them back closer to Rangers. They could be the catalyst they need to bring that league title back to Celtic Park.
“Getting these players through the door early on in the window would be very savvy business.”
The Japanese trio follow in the footsteps of Kyogo Furuhashi at Parkhead.
The former Vissel Kobe man has netted 16 goals in 26 Celtic games since joining in the summer window (2021).
The Hoops trail Old Firm rivals Rangers by six points at the top of Scotland’s premier division.
In other news, club insider has revealed Celtic well placed to seal £2.5million signing which is ‘a brilliant deal for everyone’.
