Micah Richards in social media bust-up with Man City fans

Micah Richards quickly shut down a Manchester City fan account on social media after they made a claim about John Stones’ controversial winner against Wolves on Sunday (October 20).

Wolves took a surprise early lead in their Premier League clash through Jorgen Strand Larsen, but relentless pressure from Manchester City eventually overwhelmed the home side.

Croatian Left-back Josko Gvardiol, 22, bagged the equaliser just after the half-hour mark with a lovely curling effort.

It seemed like City were heading for a third consecutive frustrating draw, but John Stones, 30, came through in the 95th minute to secure the win.

The controversy around Stones’ goal arose when it was initially disallowed, with Bernardo Silva being in an offside position near Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.

Micah Richards corrects Man City fan on social media

Posting on X, formally known as Twitter, fan account @City_Chief called Richards, 36, out, saying, “Micah Richards says that Stones goal shouldn’t have been allowed. He will say anything to keep that job at Sky Sports. He is a fool.”

Unimpressed with the take, former City player Richards quickly responded, saying, “Stop tweeting nonsense. I said I wasn’t convinced that Jose Sa was set. I’m still not… but when Stones heads the ball, there’s no question Silva’s not interfering. Correct decision to give the goal.”

Pep Guardiola’s side remain in second, just one point behind league leaders Liverpool after their impressive 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday (October 20).

Man City are now the only unbeaten side left in the Premier League as they seek to win their fifth consecutive title.
